How Turbulence Taught Me What Makes Me Feel Whole.
The journey to wholeness is how I built emotional resilience.
I went through one of the most intense flights of my life a few days ago. The turbulence was so powerful that it felt like a storm. It tossed the plane around for almost an hour.
As the plane bounced, fear surged through me. I gripped the armrests with a firm hold.
The loss of control was tangible, a deep, unsettling feeling that settled in my stomach.
Time seemed to pause. A wave of fear flowed over me, but along with it came an unexpected sense of clarity. I reflected on what I had neglected and considered what mattered most to me.
I lost my senses in an unexpected moment. For about 15 seconds, I felt weightless and detached.
A kind stranger woke me up. He handed me a small paper box and encouraged me to take deep breaths through my nose and out through my mouth. I focused on my breathing. The sensation faded away over time. I began to feel like myself again.
As a stark reminder, the turbulence mirrored the weight I carried. In the chaos, I reflected on what made me feel whole.
